Daicong DA is a postdoctoral scholar in the Integrated DEsign Automation Laboratory (IDEAL), Department of Mechanical Engineering at Northwestern University. His main research interests deal with material and structural design and optimization, multiscale methods and fracture modeling in heterogeneous materials, as well as bio-inspired materials and data-driven science.
Ph.D. in Mécanique, 2019
This book pursues optimal design from the perspective of mechanical properties and resistance to failure caused by cracks and fatigue. The book abandons the scale separation hypothesis and takes up phase-field modeling, which is at the cutting edge of research and is of high industrial and practical relevance.
